Eric Barnes, DDS
Dr. Eric Barnes received his dental degree from the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco. He then immediately completed his training in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at the Alameda County Medical Center – Highland General Hospital. While there, he received extensive training in dental implants, facial cosmetic, and reconstructive surgery. Highland Hospital is a major urban trauma center serving Oakland, CA and the surrounding Alameda County area which sees a high volume of facial traumatic injuries. As part of his residency, Dr. Barnes also spent one year training at Kaiser Permanente where his focus was on orthognathic (jaw) surgery, craniofacial anomolies, and treatment of Temporomandibular Joint(TMJ) pathology. Dr. Barnes maintains active privileges at Enloe Medical Center and serves on the oral surgery and facial trauma call teams.
He has received multiple awards including Resident Surgeon of the Year Highland Hospital and received the Outstanding Dental Student Award from the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a member of the Tau Kappa Omega Dental Honor society.
Dr. Barnes has lectured on topics including implant dentistry, dentoalveolar (oral cavity) surgery, and orthognathic (jaw) surgery.
He is a graduate from a local high school and is thrilled to be back in his home area. Dr. Barnes returned to Chico with his wife, Dr. Ann Tornabene, a local pediatric dentist. They have three small children, Elia, Joshua, and Weston. When not in his office, he enjoys snow and water skiing, white water rafting, fly fishing and traveling with his family.
